Mosko Moto Crew’s Reckless 10: My Initial Impressions

Mosko Moto Crew’s Reckless 10: My Initial Impressions

On every piece of gear I’ve seen from Mosko Moto Crew the quality and craftsmanship are incredible and the function is second to none. With this in mind I was psyched to get my hands on the Reckless 10, the newest bag in their Reckless line.

Introduced in December 2018, the Reckless 10 is the little brother of the Reckless 40 and 80 bags that have become extremely popular in the Dual sport community. It is great for Enduro-focused riders doing day trips who want to carry some extra gear without adding major bulk.

Since getting the pack in mid-December, I’ve been riding with it every chance I’ve had. Here are my initial impressions.

1. Ease of Attachment. One thing that makes this pack kick ass is how easily it attaches to the bike. Once the rear mounting hardware is installed, getting the bag on the bike takes about 2 minutes. It’s pretty simple: just wrap 2 straps around the frame on the front of the bike and 2 straps on the rear and, boom, you’re done. Each strap even has its own Velcro strap keeper to keep things clean and prevent any excess material from blowing in the wind.

2. It Seems Indestructible. The material quality of the Reckless 10 is incredible. Made of 168d ballistic nylon with hypalon armor panels, I don’t have any worries about this bag ripping if I go down or it snags on a bush.

3. Storage Space. The Reckless 10 has the perfect amount of space for weekends travels in the backcountry or some fun class 3/4 roads in New England. I can comfortably get a full day of clothing, food, extra water, an MSR water filter, and an extra fuel bottle in the pack’s two 5 liter dry bags and side pouch. On top of that, the pack’s “beaver tail” carries my Mosko Moto Pinner Tool Roll (see my review here) and, on cooler days, another extra layer. Even packed this full the bag rides well, with zero movement.

In sum, if you’re looking for a bag that can hold some extra gear on your smaller Enduro style bikes, this is the one for you. I’ll update this review in the early spring when the weather warms and I’ve put some more miles on it. But until then it’s safe to say you can’t go wrong with the Reckless 10.
