Mick’s Picks: The Fist Red Back Glove
I bought a pair of Fist Gloves in July because I needed new gloves after an awesome trip on the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route. The Fist Gloves are all the same style, just with different graphics and after some indecision, I ended up picking the Fist Red Back Glove because I have a thing for spiders. I’ve worn them just about every time I’ve been in my dual sport since then. After 500 miles, here’s what I think.
The fit is amazing. The glove never has bunching issues.
The grip is great, even when wet!
The durability isn’t great. During the first month, the stitching at the wrist started to pull. It’s only gotten worse since. Take a look at the pic and you’ll see what I mean.
The glove’s index and thumb fingers are supposed to be “Touch Screen conductive.” That’s something I was really counting on for handling my GPS while on the trail. Unfortunately, it hardly ever works for me and I have to take my glove off to use the GPS.
At $34.95, the price was a bit high for the performance, especially compared with what else is out there in the market.
Overall, while I love the fit of the Fist Red Back Glove I can only give it 3 stars (out of 5) because of the durability concerns and the spotty finger connectivity. That said, I’m still using these all the time and if it weren’t for the tear they’d definitely be the best glove I’ve worn yet.
